What others say:
This band is not just another drop in the ocean of music; they are a wave creating their own sea. Cougar Beatrice embodies the spirit of evolution and exploration in music. Their tapestry is one woven with dedication, creativity, and an undying love for their art. - Downers Club
The Blind Hunter is perhaps their most striking exploration of that sound to date, teeming with undeniably catchy ear candy in the form of syrupy basslines, sonorous percussion, slick guitar riffs, and assured vocals. The lyrics are just as sardonic and witty as they are forward-looking and visionary. - Boxcar
Flirting with genres ranging from indie rock to heavy metal to rap and pop, their sound is a unique blend of the themes that define modern alternative music. - Cavalier Daily
Cougar Beatrice’s music draws me to listen and move. This is a band people need to hear. - Raven, professional musician
Artist Bio
We are a high-energy eclectic indie rock band from Virginia. We try not to limit ourselves whatsoever when it comes to ideas, sounds, instruments, arrangements, archetypes. We formed in the fall of 2018. Three of the four of us had only been playing instruments for a year or two at most. We started with covers - our biggest influences were the Strokes, Arctic Monkeys and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Then we thought “we should try writing a few, why not?” Our sounds are expanding to include other areas of our tastes, such as the Beach Boys, EDM music, polka, bluegrass, jazz, etc. Nothing is off-limits for us.
When the pandemic hit, we lived together in Charlottesville and created the album “Colors of I”, a story-line of originals that move from struggle to triumph, finishing with the cathartic “Glory Glory.”Our Blind Hunter EP and subsequent songs reflect our ever evolving exploration in creativity, musicianship, and the themes that challenge many of us in today’s world.
We are thankful to the people who come and listen to us. We give everything we have to our live performances. The people deserve it, because everything that has happened and will happen along the way is nothing short of a blessing. We are eternally grateful that our tapestries in this limitless universe include the beauty of music.
